LCA & EPD Integration in Our Furniture

As part of our commitment to sustainability, GeeKen has adopted Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and developed Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for their product lines. These tools help us measure, manage, and transparently communicate the environmental impact of our furniture— from raw material sourcing to end-oflife.

By aligning with ISO 14040, 14044, and 14025 standards, we ensure our products meet national and global green building requirements. This scientific approach enables us to continually improve our design, reduce carbon emissions, and support our customers in making environmentally responsible choices

I. Significant Emissions Concentration Identified and Addressed: Across all reports, the highest global warming potential (GWP) was consistently linked to the raw material acquisition stage (A1)—especially due to CRCA steel, a material with high embodied carbon. This helped the company target improvements at the material sourcing stage.

II. Cradle-to-Grave Assessment with Optimization: By analyzing the full life cycle (cradle-to-grave), GeeKen identified: CRCA steel and epoxy powder are key impact drivers, with reduction potential through recycled materials and energy-efficient manufacturing.

III. Process-Level Impact Reduction: Manufacturing processes consuming electricity, carbon dioxide, and webp were optimized..

Low Emissions, High Integrity: The GeeKen Way

Carbon Footprint Results – Product Wise Breakdown

Key Findings

I. Cradle-to-Grave Evaluation

All products were assessed from raw material extraction to end-of-life, covering full lifecycle emissions.

II. Primary Contributor to GWP

Raw material stage (especially CRCA steel and epoxy powder) is the dominant contributor to total emissions.

III. Recycling Credits Reduce GWP

End-of-life recycling yields significant GWP reductions (-5 to -12 kg CO₂-eq per unit), based on material content.
